  • Friends,

We are delighted to invite you to Posture Magazine's Black Tie Fundraising Event on August 25, 2013 at 7:00pm. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door (any and all donations welcome).

Posture is a NY-based arts magazine that functions as a platform for queer creatives in the areas of visual art, fashion, drag, performance, music, and journalism. The website just launched online in May of this year and seeks to bring the LGBTQ community a quarterly high quality publication that is focused on the arts. This is our first fundraising event so please come out for a splendid evening and help us get closer to achieving our goals!

The night will feature the following:

    - Music set list curated by DJ Angelboi !

    - Performances by the Draq Queens Severely Mame and Stevie Zar beginning at 8:30pm.

    - A silent auction consisting of works of art*, fashion*, and other surprises.

    - A photo booth run by the wonderful nightlife photographer Gizelle Peters (The best way for you to remember this magical night)

    - A fashion show comprised of looks by Isabel Benenato, Veer NYC and Dominic Louis beginning at 9:30pm.

    - To follow the fashion show: A DAPPERQ DATE AUCTION. That's right. This is your chance to personally get to know one of the features from the DapperQ blog.

By "Black Tie" we mean dress up and express yourself. A literal interpretation is encouraged, but absolutely no one will be turned away.

**Note: We will have secret judges at the event and the person who gets the vote for best dressed will be featured in the fashion section on the website. So put on your best tuxes, suits, ties, bolos, cocktail dresses, oxfords, stilettos, and/or some variation thereof (the more creative the better), and come celebrate the beginning of something great.

    * Donated fashion items by Raife and Singer, Marimacho, Androgyny, and more

    * Donated works of art by Cristy Road, Lizz Andronaco, Jonathan Joseph, Kelsey Shwetz, Ehren Clodfelter, Talon Geer, Beata Chrzanowska, Lauren Denitzio, and more

  • Saturday 24th August will be another fine day of Brazilian deep house at [SNK/PK011]. Hot off the heels of our visitors from Tropical Beats in Rio, we bring you a showcase from the guys behind Sao Paolo label PopArt - Dashdot and Re Dupre. Keeping Baum’s two rooms warm on the night will be surprise guest for the terrace Eddie C, La Femme, Spin, Julian Peña, Fabian Zuluaga and Camilo Villegas.

    Party theme: Pop Art ☺

Andre Guarda and Felipe Flora are Dashdot, a Brazilian duo that came together through music and eventually launched themselves at their homeland’s finest club, D-Edge. Since then they have gone on to release on labels like Cream Couture and Andre Crom’s OFF, picking up support along the way from contemporary tastemakers including Hot Since 82, SKAM and Matt Fear. After sitting pretty in Beatport charts with their early house creations, the pair soon set up the label PopArt with Re Dupre, and now continue to take their live sets and elegant sounds to the world’s finest clubs.

Hailing from Sao Paolo in Brazil, Re Dupre is part of the country’s new wave of house talent. Since 2008 he has been releasing his unique take on tech on labels like 303Lovers and HotFingers and playing everywhere from Warung to D-Edge in his homeland. Re Dupre owns two of the most well known Brazilian Labels, PopArt and MUR and releases plenty of modern house sounds on those labels that often race up Beatport charts and get dropped by international DJs across the globe. His productions lean on deep house, disco and tech and come out as unique things that really get people dancing and feeling equal measure.

Oh.. expect some big basslines in the main room ☺

The theme we’re going for in the party is going to be Pop Art (obviously!) so get your 70’s on and come down for a serious jam..

    Good vibes, always.
