csrhomeCity & State Reports Announces Inaugural 2015 New York Corporate Social Responsibility Awards & Conference Series
New York – Jan. 8, 2015 – City & State Reports, an affiliate of City & State Media, will showcase outstanding New York corporations and business leaders through a series of seven awards ceremonies, conferences and special publications in 2015. The series, conducted in partnership with the City University of New York and Baruch College, will promote the theme of Corporate Social Responsibility. New York 1 News Anchor Errol Louis will host the inaugural March 31st event.
One of the most important trends in business today, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) encompasses everything from philanthropy to environmentalism to the treatment of workers in the developing world. The goal of the event series is to promote CSR and encourage businesses to do well by doing good. To accomplish this, the events will highlight the best examples of CSR within New York’s corporate community – through academic white papers, special publications, discussion panels, TV interviews and award ceremonies. Premier sponsors for this groundbreaking program include Capalino+Company, Time Warner and TD Bank.
City & State Reports has officially begun accepting nominees for its March 31, 2015 awards ceremony to honor outstanding professionals from New York’s Real Estate, Construction & Housing Sectors. The breakfast event will feature a thought leadership panel discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility.
In addition to Real Estate, Construction & Housing, the 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards & Conference series will spotlight the following sectors:
  • Law, Accounting & Business Services – April 22, 2015
  • Technology, Telecommunications & New Media – May 14, 2015
  • Banking, Asset Management & Insurance – June 11, 2015
  • Hospitality, Gaming & Tourism – September 2015
  • Sports, Entertainment & Television – October 2015
  • Retail & Luxury Goods – November 2015
This unique program has been created to honor outstanding business professionals from the New York region who, on behalf of their company or institution, have successfully promoted one or more of the following 10 Core Principles of Corporate Social Responsibility:
  • Charity: Promotes contributions to worthy causes from the organization and its employees
  • Customers: Works to ensure the fair and respectful treatment of the organization’s customers and the marketing of wholesome, fair-value products.
  • Diversity: Works to create and maintain a diverse and contented workforce.
  • Environment & Sustainability: Helps the organization support effective sustainability programs and the responsible stewardship of the environment.
  • Equity: Promotes fair and equitable compensation and career opportunities for the organization’s employees regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Ethics: Helps the organization maintain the highest standards regarding the law, regulations, and industry codes of conduct.
  • Privacy: Works to protect, secure and responsibly manage the personal information and privacy of the organization’s customers and employees.
  • Sourcing: Ensures that the organization uses outside contractors and suppliers that treat their employees fairly and handle issues such as the environment responsibly.
  • Transparency: Ensures that the organization reports its activities openly and honestly to its employees, investors and the public.
  • Volunteerism & Community Engagement: Encourages the organization’s employees, individually and collectively, to perform volunteer work and engage with the local community.
